Chuck Liddell and Kevin Nash turn to stem cell therapy to treat chronic back and neck pain

How stem cells promote healing of degenerative disc disease and back and neck injuries – no surgery or medication

“Stem cell therapy transformed my life.”

— Chuck Liddell, UFC Heavyweight Champion

Stem cells work to treat herniated discs, bulging discs, lower lumbar pain and other spine and disc conditions because they promote healing by amplifying our body’s natural ability to reduce inflammation, heal more quickly and regenerate damaged tissues.

Whether you’re working out to improve overall performance and enjoy a more active lifestyle, or focusing on building muscle strength, you’re going to be in pain from time to time. That’s natural – especially as we age. Indeed, if you’re never in pain, you’re probably not working out hard enough.

Although exercise puts stress on muscles, tendons, and joints, your neck and back are most vulnerable. That’s because any time you move your body, that motion centers along the spine, which extends from the neck to lower back. It’s also why back and neck pain are such common symptoms, especially for athletes – both pro and “weekend warrior” alike.

When you think about how the spine is designed, it’s a remarkable structure – strong enough to support our entire body weight, let flexible enough to allow us to move our limbs, turn our heads, and flex our bodies. The spine, after all, isn’t one bone, but an intricate chain of smaller bones called vertebrae. Between each smaller bone, there’s a “disc,” which contains cartilage tissue and hydration to cushion the vertebrae – absorbing shock and preventing friction.

We’re not even aware of these discs – until they start wearing out that is. That’s a condition called degenerative disc disease. That can cause significant pain and grows worse over time as disc tissue wears out and isn’t replaced, which results in bulging or herniated discs.

When we’re younger, our bodies naturally repair damaged disc tissue using stem cells from our bone marrow, but as we age, we may not produce enough stem cells to repair this damage. Some patients resort to complex and often risky surgery to relieve pain or medications that can cause serious side effects.

Now there’s another treatment option – stem cell therapy. Giving the body more stem cells can help promote rapid healing of disc tissue, rehydrating them and restoring them to their normal shape. It’s an effective procedure that does not require surgery or medication.

How the body knows how to heal itself and stay well

Most current medical treatments involve surgery or medication. But we’re not born with scalpels so we can cut into ourselves. Nor are we born with a supply of artificial chemicals such as pharmaceuticals to ingest when we need to feel well.

We are, however, born with stem cells. As our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Karolynn Halpert often explains, “the body knows how to heal itself.” She’s right, of course, pointing out that we are born with stem cells that can become any type of cell the body needs. After stem cell therapy, a fresh infusion of new healthy stem cells gives the body more cells it naturally uses to heal a wide range of disorders.

For example, when we treat a patient for a serious traumatic brain injury, those stem cells quickly become new cells to regenerate brain tissue and reduce neuroinflammation. In degenerative disc disease in the spine, those stem cells quickly become new cells to regenerate and heal that diseased disc tissue.

Your body doesn’t know why it’s seeing new stem cells available. So it also uses those cells to help restore balance across two intricate biological signaling systems that are essential to wellness, but ironically, can also threaten our health.

  • If you think about immunity, for example, that seems good, but there are many cases when our body’s immune response can turn against us.

  • On the other hand, while inflammation seems unpleasant – and it is – we need inflammation as a natural signaling system – just not too much of it – because chronic inflammation can turn into serious health issues.

These two biological processes are interrelated and can get out of balance when an overactive immune response triggers excess inflammation.

Let’s look at how these two processes work and why too much of a good thing can turn bad.

Stem cell therapy has proven effective in treating:

  • Chronic pain

  • Herniated discs

  • Bulging discs

  • Degenerative disc disease

  • Neck pain and injuries

  • Lower back (lumbar) injuries and pain

  • Spinal stenosis

  • Spinal cord injuries

How stem cell therapy works

Stem cells can be used to promote healing of a wide range of injuries and alleviate symptoms of many diseases, which is why it’s used for many conditions and disorders. When your body receives an extra supply of stem cells, it uses those cells to signal other cells to rapidly accelerate the healing process – not just in disc tissue in the spine, but also throughout the body.

That’s why many stem cell treatment patients not only report healing and less pain from degenerative disc disease, but also improved performance, improved strength gains, and faster recovery times from training and injuries. Because stem cells can be turned into any other type of cell, they help modulate the immune system, reduce chronic inflammation, and promote healing of other damage in your body that you may not even be aware of.

Why more athletes now choosing stem cell treatment

At BioXcellerator, we’ve treated many athletes and other patients at our state-of-the-art clinic in Colombia. That may seem like a long journey for medical treatment, but unfortunately FDA regulations don’t allow the best stem cell treatments to be made available in the U.S.

For example, we treated legendary UFC champion Chuck Liddell for a disc disorder, and now says “stem cell therapy transformed my life.”

“As a result of fighting most of my life, I’ve had nagging injuries and pain in my knees, shoulders, back, neck. After BioXcellerator stem cell therapy, the pain in my back, neck and shoulders has been dramatically reduced and the range of motion has improved,” Chuck said.

He also pointed out, “I’m 50 now; my energy wasn’t what it was even just 5 years ago. Since treatment, my energy levels have increased. I feel great. I am back in the gym, training more, doing more with my kids. I cannot thank you guys enough.”

And WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash says that with stem cell therapy, he’s “turned back the clock by 6 to 8 years.”

“Only one day after treatment, I woke up and could feel my hand, which had been numb for 7 years.” He said. He also reported that only two months later the constant pain he suffered in his shoulders was gone and that “my biggest improvement is cognitive function with more overall clarity and thought process.”

And another wrestler, Ryback Reeves came to BioXcellerator to treat his discs because stem cell treatment in the U.S. didn’t alleviate his pain.

He said, “What I was getting in the states wasn’t as good. I got a few thousand cells at a U.S. clinic”

Reeves has clearly done his research. He knows that one of the hallmarks of effective stem cell treatment is the number of cells you receive – and their potency and purity.

After one month, he said, “I really noticed some changes. Zero back pain even after waking up. That’s surreal after rolling out of bed for the last three years in excruciating pain.”

High potency stem cells for more effective treatment

What Ryback Reeves and many others know about stem cell therapy is that not all stem cells are alike.

Based on decades of research and proprietary protocols, we’ve developed a special type of treatment that assures that stem cell treatment includes cells that have as much healing potential as possible.

We start by harvesting a special type of stem cell – mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from Wharton’s Jelly inside donated umbilical cords. Research shows that these cells are more effective and have more healing potential than cells from adipose (fatty) tissue or bone marrow. Then we screen those cells so we can take only the most potent cells and purify them before culturing and expanding them into millions of high-potency stem cells. Our research shows these cells work more quickly and effectively to promote healing, reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and repair damaged tissues – such as herniated discs.

No more back pain – peak performance

Anyone training hard – whether you’re a professional athlete or not – can benefit from the remarkable results of stem cell therapy. Not only do powerful stem cells help repair damaged disc and spine tissue but can also reduce inflammation, boost immunity, increase performance and improve your overall quality of life – even enhance sexual wellness and cognitive abilities.
